A Story of Medicine and Leadership
On Wednesday, January 13, 2010 – just hours after an earthquake of catastrophic magnitude hit Haiti – Brigadier General Itzik Kreiss was woken up by a phone call from his commander. “We are sending a humanitarian delegation to Haiti. Take the field hospital and get there as soon as possible,” he was told. Within a few hours, a team was organized and ready to go.
Almost five years after Israel joined the global effort in assisting Haiti’s earthquake victims, in September 2014, Brig. Gen. Kreiss spoke of his experience leading the IDF delegation at the TedMedLive conference in Jerusalem. Watch him share stories of hope, dedication, leadership and medicine.
