As the earthquake devastated infrastructure, engineers are needed on the ground to survey buildings in the affected area, and to assess whether or not they remain safe to use. The delegation also includes search and rescue and other military personnel.

The delegation, led by Col. (res.) Dudi Mizrahi of the Home Front Command’s Search and Rescue unit, will land in Mexico in approximately 18 hours. Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus, an IDF spokesperson, says of the aid mission, “The IDF and the State of Israel will continue to assist in the aftermath of any disaster around the world that requires our experience and abilities.”
