Yesterday (Monday), The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, visited the Judea area in Judea and Samaria along with the Commanding Officer of the Central Command, MG Avi Bluth, the Commanding Officer of the Judea and Samaria Division, BG Yaakov Dolef, the Commanding Officer of the "Judea" Brigade, COL S., and other commanders.

The commanders presented the Chief of the General Staff with the inquiry on the operations of the IDF troops in the village of Jinba, which was held on Sunday under the leadership of the Commanding Officer of the Central Command.

The Chief of the General Staff emphasized that he expects IDF soldiers in all arenas to operate while upholding the norms and operational discipline, which are essential conditions for accomplishing the mission, and that he will not accept situations where IDF soldiers use force in a manner that contradicts IDF values.

The Chief of the General Staff quoted before the commanders from the words of the late COL Dror Weinberg: "Military action is judged by the test of the result. A commander or unit will be measured by its ability to achieve results by any means that meet the moral-ethical test. When the method is not moral and ethical, the result does not matter."

From the Chief of the General Staff's remarks: "Your activities in the area directly prevent attacks on Israel’s home front. This is a complex, intensive, and highly important operational effort, for which I hold great appreciation. The incident we are investigating is a serious incident that does not align with IDF values. The use of force in an operation must be precise and controlled. Military operations in civilian areas are very complex, and therefore we must, first and foremost, ensure proper training and command. We must continue to act decisively and proactively to thwart terrorism, while maintaining the security of residents and communities."
