Commanding Officer of the Homefront Command: “The sense of security of northern residents is essential. Their safe return home is not just a goal, it is a duty.”
Over the past year in northern Israel, approximately 1,300 protective shelters and 20 fortified guard posts have been installed, around 3,700 safes have been distributed to emergency squads, fences have been built, and perimeter paths have been paved as part of ongoing efforts to increase security for northern communities.
As part of the intensified efforts to create the conditions for the return of residents to their homes in northern Israel, the Commanding Officer of the Home Front Command, MG Rafi Milo, conducted a tour yesterday (Sunday) of the evacuated communities along the confrontation line—Kfar Yuval, Manara, Kiryat Shmona, Misgav Am, and Kfar Giladi—focusing on advancing security and fortification measures in educational institutions.
Over the past year, the Home Front Command, in collaboration with government bodies, has been working to expand the deployment of protective measures in northern communities by installing shelters, guard posts, constructing fences, paving perimeter paths, and more.
Additionally, in recent months, the Home Front Command, led by the Northern District, has been engaging in discussions with members of communities along the confrontation line. These discussions provide updates on the situation, address residents' needs, and emphasize the close cooperation between the Home Front Command and the civilian sector.
