The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, recently (Saturday) concluded a visit to the Binyamin Regional Brigade together with the Commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, BG Yaakov Dolef, the Commander of the Binyamin Regional Brigade, COL A., and the Commander of the 7114th Battalion, LTC G.

The Chief of the General Staff conducted an initial debriefing regarding the incident of violence by Israeli civilians against IDF soldiers that occurred last night and stated that he fully supports the commanders’ conduct and their actions.

In his conversation with the soldiers and commanders, he praised the battalion for reporting for reserve duty for the third time since October 7th.

From the words of the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir:
"Our mission in this sector is to thwart terrorism. Acts of violence hinder our ability to carry out this mission—preserving daily life, protecting the communities and residents, and combating terror. There is a wonderful, law-abiding community here. Actions like these by a small group of extremists primarily harm the population, undermine security in the area, and divert our troops from their core mission. If this violence and these extreme acts are not dealt with decisively and systematically, they could end in disaster.
To LTC G.—I have great appreciation for you, your battalion, and your reservists who continue to report for duty again and again. I also want to personally thank you.
I stand behind you. The whole nation of Israel should thank you for what you're doing here. It's not easy, it's ongoing, and you deserve to be thanked. You are the strength of the people of Israel. We have proven that the people of Israel know how to defend themselves in both nearby and distant arenas. Here too, we will continue to protect the communities and residents in cooperation with the Israel Border Police, the Israel Police, and all security forces. I strongly condemn any violence against IDF soldiers, the Israel Border Police, and all security forces. I expect all law enforcement agencies, the legal authorities, and welfare agencies to address this phenomenon in a comprehensive and decisive manner."
