The Chief of the General Staff Visited the Israeli Air Force
The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, visited the Nevatim Air Force Base today (Tuesday).
During the visit, the Chief of the General Staff received a briefing from the Commanding Officer of the Israeli Air Force, Maj. Gen. Tomer Bar, on the capabilities deployed by the Israeli Air Force during the "Iron Swords" War, both in nearby and distant arenas. Additionally, the main lessons learned from October 7th and the processes for their implementation were presented.
The Chief of the General Staff noted that the Israeli Air Force serves as Israel's strategic arm and that the missions carried out over the past year and a half are impressive by any standard, with an emphasis on close air support for ground forces and strikes in Iran and Yemen.
As part of the Israeli Air Force's professionalism, the *inquiry process* and implementation of lessons from the war were conducted at a high level, demonstrating a significant process of improvement and integration.
The Chief of the General Staff noted that the Israeli Air Force is made up of outstanding individuals: technicians, administrative and logistics personnel, staff officers, air defense personnel, combat soldiers, pilots, and especially, dedicated reservists who have completed hundreds of days of reserve duty since the outbreak of the war.
The Chief of the General Staff concluded by saying, "We have an exceptional Air Force, built on excellent soldiers and commanders, and on an outstanding commanding officer who has guided the force to tremendous achievements."
