Southern Arena
Yesterday (Friday) During combat with terrorists yesterday, IDF troops engaged with 15 terrorists in the northern Gaza Strip, killing several of them.
Troops also directed tank fire and destroyed three Hamas observation posts.
From the beginning of combat, in cooperation with the ISA, we eliminated 10 Hamas terrorists who held the rank equivalent to battalion or brigade commander. These are Hamas tactical leaders who are leading operations against our forces. They are also the ones who planned the barbaric massacre on October 7th and carried it out with their subordinates.
During ground operations in the Gaza Strip, combat engineering troops created access routes, cleared the area of explosive devices, neutralized terror infrastructure and terrorist cells found in the area.
Furthermore, combat engineering and infantry soldiers located and struck military compounds used for planning and executing terror activities.
Sirens in Eilat earlier Saturday were determined to be a false alarm.
Northern Israel
Yesterday (Friday) the IDF struck Hezbollah anti-tank firing positions and a Hezbollah military post. This was in response to the firing of an anti-tank missile from Lebanese territory. Troops also fired towards suspects who approached the border.
Two terrorist cells attempting to fire from Lebanon toward Israeli territory. IDF forces returned fire, striking the cells and a Hezbollah observation post.
Following launches from Lebanon toward communities in northern Israel, the IDF responded by striking the source of the fire in Lebanon.
