US Officials Talk Strategy with Senior IDF officials in Israel
"Today marks the last day of one of the highest ranking Jewish Institute for National Security of America (JINSA) delegations to visit Israel. During the ten day trip, former US officers heard from the heads of the Israeli Air Force, Navy, Intelligence, Northern and Southern Commands. This is the fourth trip for the former Vice Commandant of the United States Coast Guard and former Administrator of the Transportation Security Administration, Vice Admiral Peter Neffenger. He explains, “Each time I come here, I get a greater depth of understanding. You can’t understand the challenges faced here in Israel unless you repeatedly come back and hear what they have to say.”

“We looked at both the strategic interest of Israel from each of those individuals and collectively,” Vice Admiral Peter Neffenger continued. “But also how that strategy can be played out every day, along Gaza, at the border crossings, up in the Golan Heights. It’s really interesting to see the strategic challenges but then immediately see how they have to be applied every single day at the tactical level.”

JINSA educates congressional, military and civilian national security decision-makers on American defense and strategic interests, primarily in the Middle East, strengthening the U.S.-Israeli security cooperation. “I see a growing connection between Israel and the United States, recognizing how dynamic this region has become.”
