Bringing Them Home: IDF Establishes Intelligence Array to Locate Hostages and Missing Persons
“My heart is with the families, with the hostages, with my entire soul and mind focused on this mission. Together with hundreds of people, we will not stop for a moment, until we find a way to bring back our loved ones”
Commander of the Intelligence Array for Locating the Abducted and Missing Persons, MG (res.) Nitzan Alon
At the beginning of the war against Hamas, the IDF’s Intelligence Directorate established an array to locate hostages and missing persons who are being held captive in Gaza. Hundreds of children, women and men were abducted by Hamas terrorists and the active duty and reservists of the intelligence directorate and the IDF as a whole have made it their highest priority to bring them home.
Dozens of teams have joined this specialized intelligence array, including personnel from the Israel Security Agency (ISA), and are all working around the clock to produce the most accurate assessment and comprehensive understanding of the hostages’ situation and locations.
Senior executives from Israel’s world-renowned high-tech industry have also volunteered to take part in the effort. Together with the Intelligence Directorate’s personnel and resources, they have been developing new systems dedicated to this very effort.
Retrieving civilian hostages from captivity is a mission of national importance. The IDF is also ensuring the families of those who have been abducted are receiving the proper support and accompanied during these difficult times. The families and the public will be updated regarding the hostages’ situation regularly.
