Over the past few days, the Israeli Navy and the Israeli Air Force have successfully conducted several tests to evaluate the capabilities of the Naval “Iron Dome.” These exercises were conducted in cooperation with Rafael and the Israel Missile Defense Association, which developed Israel’s multi-layer defense system that includes the “Iron Dome,” “David’s Sling,” and the “Arrow” Aerial Defense Systems.

“We have conducted a successful exercise that culminated the effort that the Israeli Navy, Israeli Air Force, and various others started more than a year ago,” said Brigadier General Dror Fridman.

During these tests, missiles were fired in order to simulate real threats that Israel faces. These projectiles, were first identified by the radar “Adir” and then were intercepted by the Naval “Iron Dome,” via “Tamir” missiles.

“We saw the benefits of the Iron Dome during Operation Protective Edge and we want to eliminate the dangers facing Israel, not only on land, but also at sea,” said Israeli Air Brigadier General Zvika Haimovich.
