Search And Rescue Brigade
The Search and Rescue Brigade (60th) is a highly skilled force trained to execute special search and rescue missions, both in Israel and abroad. The coed brigade is the sole brigade under the Home Front Command. Search and Rescue soldiers’ signature look is an orange beret and black boots.
The soldiers go through special training in combat, search and rescue from disaster sites, and responding to ABC (atomic, biological, chemical) warfare.
The unit was founded in 2013, and took part in Operation Protective Edge. The brigade is sent on missions all over the world to aid in natural disaster relief. In their latest mission, 71 soldiers were sent to Mexico to help rescue bodies from collapsed buildings after the September 2017 earthquake.
