Suspected Firebomb Attacker Arrested

It was announced today (Sunday, July 21) that in a joint effort, the IDF and the Israel Security Agency (ISA or Shin Bet security service) detained the suspected perpetrator of a May firebomb attack. In that attack, on May 15, 2013, a firebomb was hurled at a passing IDF vehicle, causing injuries to four IDF soldiers.

The suspect confessed to having carried out this attack and several other firebomb attacks.

In the same activity, Israeli security forces arrested more than 10 suspected perpetrators of violent protests and rock-throwing attacks that took place to the southeast of Hebron.

Charges have been filed against the suspects.

Israel’s security forces continue to work against terrorist attacks targeting Israelis in Judea and Samaria. In the first half of 2013, there were 468 firebomb attacks in Judea and Samaria.
