Spike SR: New, Lightweight, and Ready for Action
The IDF paired up with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems to develop a new rocket launcher for infantrymen, the Spike SR. This partnership will provide IDF infantry troops with thousands of Spike SR launchers.

Rafael developed the Spike SR specifically for the IDF’s needs, which included a 40% weight reduction from the previous design. The Spike SR is a shoulder-mounted launcher and the first of its kind with unique features for more effective ground operations and land maneuvers.
The launcher is transported quickly and easily and can precisely hit structures from hundreds of feet away. Raphael and the IDF created the Spike SR as part of the IDF’s “Land on the Horizon” program led by the Ground Forces. This program was designed to enhance the effectiveness of the IDF's ground maneuvers and to improve the preparedness of ground forces in emergency and war scenarios.

Colonel Ariel, Head of the Ground Forces’ Armaments Division said, "The Spike SR is a lightweight rocket launcher that doesn’t hinder ground forces’ performance. It also provides them with operational independence and accurate short-distance aim.”
The head of Rafael's Precision Tactical Weapon Systems Directorate, Tzvi M., explained that the Spike SR meets the IDF's need for a quality rocket launcher. He says, “It adds another layer to the IDF's technological strength and advantages over its enemies.”
