IDF Exercises Multi-Front Conflict on Northern Border
January 20, 2016 – Today the IDF concluded a two week pre planned ground, aerial and naval exercise in northern Israel.
For the first time, forces exercised a conflict on both the Syrian and the Lebanese fronts. The exercise focused on preparing troops for a long-term multi-front conflict.
Head of the Northern Command, Major General Aviv Kochavi: “This exercise demonstrated IDF’s ability to implement operational plans in all arenas while facing Hezbollah and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) both in Syria and Lebanon. In this framework we simulated vast maneuvers, substantial firepower, and attack of thousands of targets in all combat areas, with high efficiency, including residential areas exploited by the enemy.”
