ISRAEL-LEBANON CEASEFIRE 2024

The Israel–Lebanon ceasefire brokered on November 26, 2024, was intended to halt hostilities along the northern border and create the conditions for long-term stability following months of intense fighting. While the agreement formally brought large-scale combat to an end, the period since the ceasefire has been marked by persistent challenges.

Throughout the first year, Hezbollah repeatedly attempted to rebuild its terrorist capabilities, reestablish infrastructure, and reposition forces in ways that violate the terms of the ceasefire. These actions undermined the agreement’s intent, raising ongoing concerns about enforcement, deterrence, and the durability of calm along the Israel–Lebanon border.
